Today we have the cover of DOON by Lorie Langdon & Carey Corp, which releases August 20, 2013. It’s beautiful! I can’t wait for you to see it. But before we get to the goods, here is a message from Lorie and Carey:
Hi YABC readers! We’re beyond excited that you could join us for the exclusive cover reveal of our debut novel, DOON!
DOON is the first installment in our new four-book series about two best friends and their adventures in a hidden Scottish kingdom. We *love* our amazing cover because with one look the reader is drawn into the modern-day fairytale world of DOON. We want to give huge kudos to our cover designer, the awesomely talented, Mike Heath of Magnus Creative, who brought our vision of DOON to life. (He also did the cover for POISON by Bridget Zinn. Squee!!).
And what girl wouldn’t want that *gorgeous* red gown on the cover?! Mike, if you’re reading this, contact us ASAP! Lorie will totally wear this dress to book signings, conferences, the library, the carwash…you get the idea.
We are also thrilled to announce that DOON will be a lead title in the launch of a brand new YA imprint called BLINK! How incredibly cool is that?!

Isn’t it lovely? I love the mists, the beautiful Scottish landscape, the castle perched in the background, and her beautiful garnet-colored gown. Simply gorgeous!
A bit about DOON:
Fairy tale retellings have become popular in today’s culture, ranging from creative reimaginings of favorite childhood tales to mash-ups with today’s world. And with shows such as Smash and Glee capturing people’s attention, Broadway is making a comeback as well. Authors Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon tap into both trends while also providing an entertaining and spell-binding story with Doon, the first book in a new YA series featuring adventure, humor, and two amazing—and very different—romances.

About the authors:
Lorie Langdon has wanted to write her own novels since she was a wee girl reading every Judy Blume book she could get her hands on. So a few years ago, she left her thriving corporate career to satisfy the voices in her head.
Now as a full-time author and stay-at-home mom, she spends her summers editing poolside while dodging automatic water-gun fire, and the rest of the year tucked into her cozy office, Havanese puppy by her side, working to translate her effusive imagination into the written word.
Carey Corp wrote her first book, a brilliant retelling of Star Wars, at the prodigious age of seven. Since then, her love affair of reinvention has continued to run amuck.
Writing both literary fiction and stories for young adults, she begins each morning consuming copious amounts of coffee while weaving stories that capture her exhaustive imagination.
She harbors a voracious passion (in no consistent order) for mohawks, Italy, musical theater, chocolate, and Jane Austen.

Wow! Just WOW! This cover has it all, but I especially love the mist. As someone who loved the old Brigadoon, I can’t wait for this YA version of that classic, wonderful tale. I can’t wait to see it hit the shelves. It’s so beautiful!

I LOVE the cover only thing not absolutely perfect is the fog. There is just a bit to much of it. The name is very unique and is sure to stand out and the dress is gorgeous!
It’s no mystery, the cover is gorgeous! I love the hills in the background, paired with the fog, and the green of the title—it really completes the look perfectly. 🙂
Thanks Vanessa. We heard the photographer bought the dress especially for the shoot. Talk about going above and beyond!!! And I think Lorie has dibs on the dress … she said something about wearing it conferences, and signings, and for housework. LOL!

What a fantastic cover! I love the mist/fog and the slightly ominous/mysterious feeling that it gives the idyllic fantasy landscape. The dress is absolutely lovely (love the color), and the font is quite eye-catching as well!
