I have read so many books in this genre and this series is my absolute favorite ! To me this is the beginning of the series ( while I really like I'd tell you I love you but then i'd have to kill you ,this is when Zach is introduced , I feel like I don't need to explain myself further ). I am not going to write the plot summary because other reviewers have already done so . This book has kept me up until 3 am the first ,second, and third time that I've read it. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Spoiler Alert!!!

Let's talk about Zach first. In case you can't tell, I LOVE Zach! He is hot, cocky, awesome, did I mention he's incredibly hot? Because he is. I love how he knows a lot about Cammie and she knows nothing about him and she's like "How do you know that?" and he just points to himself and says, "Spy." I love it when he does that! We find out later on in the books that Zach is a very important character, but I'll talk more about that in another book review.

Now for Cammie. Cammie is kind of heartbroken over her breakup with Josh in the last book, and it probably didn't help when she saw him in town with his new girlfriend (but that's okay because she has Zach now). At first Cammie doesn't like Zach at all but that changes little by little as the book goes on.

I also love Grant and Jonas. Grant is kind of the love interest for Bex and Jonas is for Liz. The sad part for me is that you never see them again in the books. A part of me wants to see them in book six but most likely we wont.

I love how Joe Solomon always pair Cammie with Zach, it's like he wanted them to get together form the beginning.

I really love the part when Zach and Cammie are one their first date and Zach says' "Just so you know, Gallagher Girl, I'm gonna kiss you now" but DeeDee stops him before he can, then at the end when Zach dips Cammie in front of the whole school then says, "I always finished what I start." then I squeal. A lot. Pretty much love every single part that has Zach. It can't be helped. I love the part where Zach and Cammie are studying and he knows that she and her friends bugged his room and he says he's not all bad and not all good, and the part when Zach first called her Gallagher Girl, and the part when Zach come out of nowhere and Cammie hits her head on a fireplace mantle.

There was a lot of good stuff in this book. Time to re-read it, again

So as the title of my review suggests this installment in the series was better than the first. Everything is better; the characters, the plot and the writing style. This book introduces Zach an amazing literary character that every teenage girl wishes was real. The interaction between the characters Zach and Cammie is amazing. They totally became my OTP.
Good Points
Josh is gone
ZACh is here ('nough said)

Great books really do shine!
Good Points
I loved that Ally Carter made it so that the boys and girls were fighting almost in a very competitive way. The fighting scenes were amazing and the new characters that she brought in, I thought that they were funny and realistic like real teenagers and spies-in-training.

Cross My heart and hope to spy is one of the best books I have read ever the only one that comes close to being as good is I'd tell you I love you but then I'd have To Kill You. Ally carter is the best writer and when I finished I did not want it to end . Cammie an dher friends get suspicious when they hear cammie's mum talking about Black thorne. tCammie and her friends search it on the net abd find out it was a school for Boy spies until it got closed down years ago. Is it possible that It could still be running in secret?

Cross My Heart and Hope To Spy (Book 2: Gallagher Girls)
Ally Carter
Publisher: Hyperion Book
Pages: 240

After staking out, obtaining, and then being forced to give up her first boyfriend, Josh, all Cammie Morgan wants is a peaceful semester. But that's easier said than done when you're a CIA legacy and go to the premier school in the world...for spies.

Cammie may have a genius IQ , but there are still a lot of things she doesn't know. Like, will her ex-boyfriend even remember she exists? And how much trouble is she really in after what happened last semester? And most of all, why is her mother acting so strangely?

Despite Cammie's best intentions to be a normal student, danger seems to follow her. She and her best friends learn that their school is going to play host to some mysterious guests--code name: "Blackthorne. Then she's blamed for a security breach that leaves the school's top-secret status at risk. Soon Cammie and her friends are crawling through walls and surveilling the school to learn the truth about Blackthorne and clear Cammie's name. Even though they have confidence in their spy skills, this time the targets are tougher (and hotter), and the stakes for Cammie's heart--and her beloved school--are higher than ever.

Cross My Heart and Hope To Spy is another fantastic book in the Gallagher Girls series! Once again you hear about Cammie and her friends in another captivating story. Only this story has a twist: there's boys involved. And when you're at an all girl academy, adding boys to the mix adds quite a bit to the daily routine of girls and those around them. With these new characters in the books, you find yourself enthralled by them and falling further in love with them as the book goes on.

This is definately a must read! I found myself reading straight through, and the ending left me pining for Book 3 in the series!

From book jacket: After staking out, obtaining, and then being forced to give up her first boyfriend, Josh, all Cammie Morgan wants in a peaceful semester. But thats easier said than done when youre a CIA legacy and go to the premier school in the world& for spies.
Cammie may have a genius I.Q., but there are still a lot of things she doesnt know. Like, will her ex-boyfriend even remember she exists? And how much trouble is she really in after what happened last semester? And most of all, why is her mother acting so strangely?
Despite Cammies best intentions to be a normal student, danger seems to follow her. She and her friends learn that their school is going to play host to some mysterious guests code name: Blackthorne. Then shes blamed for the security breach that leaves the schools top secret status at risk.
Soon Cammie and her friends are crawling through walls and surveilling the school to learn the truth about Blackthorne and clear Cammies name. Even though they have confidence in their spy skills, this time the targets are tougher (and hotter), and the stakes for Cammies heart and her beloved school are higher than ever.
Favorite characters, quotes/lines: Cammie: she is hilarious!; Zach: very funny guy& he is good competition for Cammie, I hope hes in the next book; Bex, Macey, and Liz: they come up with some pretty crazy ideas& very distinct personalities, even as minor characters
When I finished this book I felt: I cant wait for the next one, Dont Judge a Girl by Her Cover! It doesnt come out for a few more months and I am very impatient! I laugh out loud sometimes when Im reading these books&
Other books to read by this author: Id Tell You I Love You, But Then Id Have to Kill You, Dont Judge a Girl by her Cover
I would recommend this book to: young adult readers who like romance and espionage!

This is the amazing sequel to Id tell You I Love you but Then I'd Have to Kill You. In this book, Cammie Morgan and the other Gallagher Girls are facing an exciting but difficult year. Cammie is still getting over Josh, then, one day Cammie and her friends overhear a conversation between Cammie's mother and their CovOps teacher Mr. Solomon. The conversation is about something called Black Thorn. She, along with Macey, Bex, and Liz must figure out what, or who, this mysterious Blackthorn is, but then Cammie gets the blame for something big at the Gallagher Academy that could put the secrets of her scool at risk.  Cammie and her friends must clear Cammie's name, while also figuring out what Blackthorn is. Can they do it?
This is a great book if you already read the first  book in the series and want to hear more from the Gallagher Girls, or if you just like reading about spies.

This book is the second sequel to Ally Carter's Id Tell You I love You but then I Have to Kill you.
This books is intense and awesome. I seriously could not put the book down when I started reading it. I was quickly obsessed with spy stuffs and started to act like one. It was fun!

Anyways, this book is also plain funny and hilarious! I would love to read the third one, Dont Judge a Girl by Her Cover. I cannot wait to read that one. I highly recommend this one to girls out there whose dreams are to become a spy. :D

Ally,

Oh my gosh, I love your Gallagher books! They're the perfect amount of drama, love, friendship, fiction and reality! Cammie is a great character to relate to because she's nice and cool, but not gorgeous and some times messes up. Her mistakes and awkward times keep the book down to earth and the plot is so new and different from other books! In the second book, Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy, I think Zach is sooo sweet! Josh is too, but I want Cammie and Zach to stay together in the end. You had me completey fooled with the last Code Black! I can't wait to read the third book!
