A fantastic way to empower little girls.
The story:
The book follows a little girl as she's told most of life's biggest lessons. Lessons that many adults never learned. The pages begin with "Dear Girl" and then go on to give them little nuggets such as "Never lose your sense of wonder." "There's no such thing as too many questions." "And if you want to say no, say no."
What I loved:
Every single thing in this book is something I'd want to share with the young girls I love. I read it with my three-year-old niece and she sat enthralled as she absorbed everything she was being told. It's incredibly empowering and valuable and perfectly timed. The main message is basically that it's okay to be who you are and that you don't only have to be one thing. That life is theirs for the taking.
The images fit the dreamy tone of the story perfectly.
What was just okay:
Nothing. I loved everything.
Final Verdict:
Fun. Adorable. Valuable. A children's story you'll be asked to read time and time again. Lesson's you'll love teaching time and time again. This book is perfect.
