What I liked: Debunked is a debut young adult fantasy that takes inspiration from Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, and the author's unique blend of adventure. We follow the unbelievable journey of two twins whose uncle routinely sends them death letters, to the point where they are unsure if they should believe he is dead or alive. The humor within the pages of this novel made me laugh out loud and was the perfect fit for the quirkiness of this story. Like most new worlds in the first book, you will find that you need to take some time to learn how the world works, and the best way to do that is correct, along with the clueless characters pulled into the new world.
Ozzie and Alex are twins and are balanced well, with one being the adventurer and the other being more on the quiet and awkward side. The side characters are great support, along with a snarky sword. It was a delight to read.
Final Verdict:
All in all, if you like a bit of a chaotic adventure and enjoy the works of terry and Douglas Adams, this will be an excellent treat for you.
