Desert Jungle is a lovely book.
The mixed media illustrations are gorgeous and did a fantastic job holding the attention of my children.
I felt the plot got a little off track. A young boy visits his grandfather in the desert and reconnects with nature, but there isn't much from when he finds the cave to going home, and it left my children with a lot of questions.
I love books that promote reconnecting with nature, and Desert Jungle is a great way to start those conversations with your children. The author mentions how flipping over rocks could lead you to a whole other world, and how one must respect nature.
