It's the summer holidays- the weather's great, and all the kids are having fun outside. So where's Greg Heffley? Inside his house playing video games with the curtains drawn. Greg, a self-confessed 'indoor person,' is living out his ultimate summer fantasy:no responsibilities and no rules. But Greg's mum has a different vision for an ideal summer...one oacked with outdoor activities and 'family togetherness.' Whose vision will win out? Or will a new addition to the Heffley family change everything?
Dog Days is the fourth book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. It is about Greg's mishaps in the summer holidays. The new mowing company, his birthday and his new book club. It is full of funny episodes that will make you laugh your pants off. You will also see how lazy Greg really is. It is a great book, everyone between the ages of 8-10 should definitely read it!

I read the book Diary Of A Wimpy Kid Dog Days, by Jeff Kinney. This book is about a boy Greg Heffley. He is so happy school is over. Greg thinks summer is about video games until his best friend Rowley invites him to his country club. He behaves so badly that he gets banned and has to go to the public pool to swim. He at first hated it until he met Heather!!

The book's main setting is Greg's house, and the public pool. Some of the important characters are Greg( main charater) Mom,Dad,Rodrick(older brother) Manny( Younger brother)The theme of this book is to look for the good in all situations.
The Author did a good job on describing the characters and what they like to do. I thought the book should have had more dialogue in it even though it is a "notebook". I think boys and girls ages 8 and up will really enjoy this book. It is really funny and silly. Overall I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dog Days by Jeff Kinney is a very humorous and good book. The book is about a kid named Greg that is playing vidoe games over the summer instead of playing outside. The whole summer Greg's mom is trying to make him go outside and play with his friend, Rowley. In this book the author does a very good job describing the challenges that Greg goes through over the summer fighting with his mom. Also, the author did a pretty good job talking about the characters and their different personalities. On the other hand, the author's story plot seemed to be confusing. The book did not seem to follow a proper sequence. All in all, the author did a very good job on the book and I would recommend it to people who like funny story lines.

Greg Heffley, who is now an expert in the middle school ways, is on summer vacation. While most kids are swimming at the public pool or riding their bikes, hes in front of the television playing video games. Gregs mom wants him to be more social, more active, and more & well, outgoing. With the cute lifeguard and trying to earn the responsibility of having a dog, maybe that wouldnt be such a bad idea. But after the sufferings of walking through the mens shower room at the pool and having a cold, wet dog sleep next to him all night, Greg realizes that being lazy and irresponsible is just the way he is.
The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series has yet to disappoint me! While I can tell that Greg is getting older and his opinions are becoming more grown-up, his narration and drawings still crack me up. This book is simply entertaining and its very easy to read and keep reading. Gregs experiences and feelings are so realistic that I couldnt help but sympathize with him, laugh at him, and just want to be with him! The series appeals to both boys and girls and is the perfect gift.
pages: 217 (reads like 100)
release date: November 2009

Contains: crude humor
RECOMMENDED (ages 12+)
