Fairy Tale

Fairy Tale was a funny and great novel.
I found the plot very interesting and the characters funny.
I liked Morgan's humor and her relationship with Cam. They were cute. Pip was also nice and funny.
I enjoyed reading it and definitely recommend this novel to fans of fairies and humor.

Morgan and Cam have been together their whole lives . . . literally.  Born on the same day, they have always been together.  But as their sixteenth birthday approaches Cam begins to change.  Its not just his behavior, its everything.  He is turning into the fairy he was always supposed to be.  Now Morgan must hatch a desperate plan to keep him from journeying to the otherworld or she will lose him forever.

 

I love fairy stories.  I love that urban fairy tales have become a YA genre.  I love this book.  It was fun to read and I found myself identifying with Morgan.  Certainly not her fairy situation, but her emotions, they are so raw and so real.  The plot development is excellent as is the pacing.  My heart sped up was the story reached its very exciting climax.  If you love urban fairy tales, then this book is for you.  On a brief side note, I would skip reading the inside of the book jacket.  It makes this fun, lively story sound like contrived sappy drivel.

When I first heard about Fairy Tale, I knew right away I just had to get this book. Fairy Tale was a fun read from start to finish.

What I love about this book was how it was not too overly dramatic. The emotions there were real and understanding and never once over the top, like water works sprouting every half page.
Some of the highlight characters for me were definitely Pip and Dawn. Pip had this guy-next-book type of vibe, this adorable yet hot persona. I love his chivalrous attitude and devotion of love that he shows to Morgan. Dawn as well was a great character for me. Despite the fact that shes the so-called villain in the novel, I just could not help but empathize with her.
The ending is also love for me. It was bittersweet but definitely well done. Again nicely executed and nothing too over the top. It fell right in with the overall storyline.

But I have some problems with this book. Some parts of Fairy Tale gave me a reminiscence of Wondrous Strange. A) Cam is the prince to the OtherworldKelly was the princess. B) They both involved something being stolen in their cribs and placed in the other world. Aside from this, I had a few questions regarding the novel. Say by day, Cam is slowly changing into a fairy, but no one notices, however Pip is changing as well. Do people notice his sudden growth/change? What about going back and forth from the fairy world? They mention its an invisible portal but that doesnt really explain the details of it. And how did they, the fairies, know that Cam was still alive?

I am not entirely saying that Fairy Tale was completely the same as Wondrous Strange. That, my dear, is called plagiarizing. Fairy Tale still brings a new voice to the ever growing category.

Overall: These are all small little details that the reader will not really notice unless you want to nick and pick. And overall Fairy Tale was a fun read.

Main characters Cam and Morgan have been the perfect couple since the were little. Him, being the football star and her being the psychic chick of the school make a great team. Until one day Cam begins to grow wings...later finding out that he is the heir to the throne in the fairy world. His replacement shows up, making things much more complicated. Will Cam stay and be with his true love? Or will he go on to the fairy world where he belongs?

Umm what can I say? It was a cute story...However, with a title like this I was expecting it to be MUCH deeper than it was. The is a regular teen story, just involving things paranormal in a very light manner.

A captivating and witty dark fantasy that will have girls lusting after it.

Finally Cam confesses to Morgan whats going on: Cam is a fairy. The night he was born, fairies came down and switched him with a healthy human boy. Nobody expected Cam to live, and nobody expected his biological brother, heir to the fairy throne, to die. But both things happened, and now the fairies want Cam back to take his rightful place as Fairy King.

Even as Cam physically changes, becoming more miserable each day, he and Morgan pledge to fool the fairies and stay together forever. But by the time Cam has to decide once and for all what to do, Morgans no longer sure whats best for everyone, or whether her and Cams love can weather an uncertain future.

Fairy Tale was one of those addicting books you cannot put down! I love anything in the fairy genre, so I was excited to read Fairy Tale. From page one, the story and characters captivate you and have you so caught up in their world that by the time the real conflict of the story takes place, it pulls you in so much more. It has an ending that will definately surprise and appeal to readers.

The characters were probably my favorite part of Fairy Tale. All of them were powerful, well-rounded characters that just popped off the page. Every single character, even Dawn the "villain" of the novel, had you feeling for them. They all had some aspect you could relate to.

This was a fantastic debut novel!
