What worked: This is a fun, quirky look at so-called mistakes, failures and what we can learn from them. I really loved the illustrations that went along with the mistakes throughout time. A huge bonus is how the author doesn't dwell on the failures but gives insight on how some of the inventors were able to learn from their failures. Examples: If author JK Rowling had given up after a number of rejections, there would have been no Harry Potter. Another shows how the inventor of Play Doh came up with the idea. Originally it was supposed to be wallpaper cleaner. Just when the inventor and his company were headed to file for bankruptcy, he noticed his nephew and friends were molding the cleaner into shapes. The rest is history!

There's also examples of what things didn't work: remember shoulder pads? Cases of 'bad timing': soda and coffee combo (Red Bulls have basically the same idea).

There are captions with lessons learned and triumphant takeaways for each mistake.

Informative along with showing how to turn a failure into a success. A great addition to any school library and for those who love National Geographic Kids books.
