I came across this book on Instagram so I thought why not and read the ebook. It makes me kind of sad this book hasnt gotten much attention. It's great writing and the protagonist Anna (she changes her name to Artesia) is different than most protagonists I have read in young adult fiction. She's blunt to a fault and has issues that I don't have but I can fathom someone having. Her differences don't make her bad though. IMO she's cool and I would be her friend if she were a real person.
And without any spoilers the relationship between Eilam and Telemachus is super cute. I don't know who to ship more, he and Telemachus or Eilam and Artesia. Probably neither will have for reasons the reader learns, but the chemistry is wild! Very memorable characters. I'm reading book 2 and if that gets posted here some time I might review that too because it's darker but doesn't lose the charm of book 1. Author says there are books books to come so I feel invested

Good Points
The characters were all developed and fleshed out in a way I could understand. The villains are interesting and the magic system is cool. I liked the author's distinct narration style.
