Gaia wants a normal life, nothing fancy, just a date with a non-serial killer, and maybe a friend. In Payback, Gaia attempts normal social interaction by attending some parties at the invitation of popular boy. This is an improvment over past novels, in that it minimizes the time that Gaia spends mooning over Sam. Unfortunately, there also isn't much action here. When the action does come, however, it's worth it, and makes this one of the better books in the series.
