Flower Power is a truly stunning book. The large-scale pages look like paintings (I kind of want to frame them!) with a blend of Spanish and Folk Art styles. The Vivid colors and whimsical nature of Olaf Hajek’s painted stories are sure to delight young readers.
Christine Paxmann does a brilliant job putting Olaf’s painted stories into words. Educational and humorous, she teaches us all about the different flowers from Olaf’s art. My favorites were the Red Poppy, the Dandelion and the Marigold. Paxmann shows her young readers all about the flowers, what makes them beautiful, how they have been used throughout the ages and what healing properties they might have.
Perfect for the budding gardener and flower enthusiasts of all ages, I would recommend Flower Power to anyone who loves truly beautiful books that are sure to strike up endless teaching moments and lively conversations.
