The Fly Guy series is an interesting and informative series for early elementary students. In FLY GUY PRESENTS: THE WHITE HOUSE, Fly Guy and his friend, Buzz, visit the home of the President of the United States and gather interesting bits of information along the way. From the White House’s employees (they even have a beekeeper!) to its pets and its ghosts, FLY GUY PRESENTS: THE WHITE HOUSE examines the aspects of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue that would most appeal to its intended age group.
The drawings and photographs throughout the book are interesting and engaging and, again, age appropriate.
The Fly Guy series is a great one for classrooms and for kids with specific areas of interest. I highly recommend it for teachers and school librarians, and for parents who are trying to foster a desire to learn about the various subjects Fly Guy investigates.
My thanks to the publisher and to YA Books Central for a copy of the book in exchange for my unbiased review.
