Imagine a world where your destiny has already been decided...by your future self. It's Callie’s seventeenth birthday and, like everyone else, she's eagerly awaiting her vision―a memory sent back in time to sculpt each citizen into the person they're meant to be. A world-class swimmer. A renowned scientist. Or in Callie's case, a criminal. In her vision, she sees herself murdering her gifted younger sister. Before she can process what it means, Callie is arrested and placed in Limbo―a hellish prison for those destined to break the law. With the help of her childhood crush, Logan, a boy she hasn’t spoken to in five years, she escapes. But on the run from her future, as well as the government, Callie sets in motion a chain of events that she hopes will change her fate. If not, she must figure out how to protect her sister from the biggest threat of all—Callie, herself.

Forget Tomorrow is set in a futuristic dystopian world with advanced technology that allows you to obtain future memories. These memories will guide people through life and will ensure them to have the career they envisioned. These memories are ‘set it stone’ and there is no varying from the path. Our protagonist, Callie dreads receiving her memory, she’s nervous she won’t become a famous chef. However not becoming a chef is the least of Callie’s worries because her future memory doesn’t involve a simple career change… she actually kills her little sister, Jessa.

Callie was fantastic main character; she’s strong, determined and will stop at nothing to make sure her memory doesn’t come true. Callie sacrifices everything and willingly goes through hell to ensure her sister safety but she soon discovers a shocking secret about their cruel government that changes everything. Taking dangerous risks, fighting fate and hoping to change her future, all with the help of her friend Logan, Callie will stop at nothing.

Callie and Logan were childhood friends but when the government took Logan’s brother for having psychic abilities, their relationship ceased to exist. Logan cut all ties and hasn’t spoken to Callie or anybody since. After a five-year long silence Logan is back in full swoon-worthy swing to help Callie change her future and to make up for lost time. I was a little hesitant to get on board with this ship at first after their years of distance but the more you read, the more you see how seamlessly easily it is to slip into old friendships and habits. Before long I was enjoying the tension and angst that comes with rediscovering a person and Callie and Logan are just so cute!

The plot was phenomenal, end of the story really. The world was incredibly thought out, complex, explained well and quite scary at times. I found the concept of future memory and having your life already mapped out quite exciting but nerve-racking, after all if you don’t like your future your only fighting fate right? Easy enough.

Forget Tomorrow was a gorgeous, refreshing story that was restored my faith in dystopian. Filled with action, adventure, romance, amazing characters and a heartfelt storyline that you can connect with. What I loved about this book is at the beginning you are thrown into this world, there’s no unnecessary build up, you’re hooked from the very beginning with this unpredictable plot and then left shocked and surprised by the clever cliffhanger ending. It’s safe to say, I loved this book- Forget Tomorrow is a magnificent debut and I can't wait to see was Dunn does next.

Callie’s seventeenth birthday has arrived, and it’s time for her to receive her vision from the future. Each citizen does gets their vision, and the rest of their lives are determined. When Callie’s vision shows her killing her younger sister, she is horrified and then rushed to Limbo, a sort of prison for people who receive visions like she did. Together with Logan, her childhood crush, she will escape and try to change her fate.

Though FORGET TOMORROW sounds a bit familiar in the dystopian elements, the more I read, the more I found the exciting and unique story here. The idea of receiving a memory from your future self is massively intriguing and opens a mansion-worth of room for questions and discussions. Themes such as living in the moment, relying on a future promise, and whether or not fate is set in stone will resonate deeply with readers.

The relationships are also well done. There are several different kinds of families, and the contrast between Callie’s relationship with her sister and Logan’s relationship with his family is often surprising and touching. Logan and Callie themselves share several adorable moments. The author uses select flashbacks well to illustrate their previous childhood relationship to gain the best understanding to where they stand now, after roughly five years of not talking. While their connection may feel a touch rushed at times, an explanation soon follows that reveals a very human complexity and use of motivations.

With a cliffhanger ending that somehow still packs a powerful punch of hope, FORGET TOMORROW is a top pick for readers who love action and themes around fate and the future.

"Forget Tomorrow" is a really intriguing YA dystopian set in a future where your life is guided by a future memory, which you receive upon your seventeenth birthday. Your future self has chosen a memory and sent it back to you- it might show you being incredibly successful, maybe something mundane, or maybe even a crime you have committed. Callie is turning 17 and so excited to receive her memory, where she hopes to be hailed as an amazing chef. Unfortunately, the memory she sees is so unbelievably different- she sees herself killing her younger sister with whom she is very close.

People whose memories are of them committing a crime (no matter the circumstances), are sent to Limbo- they haven't committed the crime yet, so they can't be convicted, but there is enough evidence that they will that they can't just be set free. Callie is willing to be imprisoned if it would save her sister. However, it is unclear if we are destined to live out the future memories or whether they might be changed.

Between the philosophical questions about destiny, time travel (as the memories are from the future- so is time linear or circular), psychic abilities, and the legality of imprisoning someone you think might commit a crime, Callie takes us through this new world piece by piece on an engaging and intriguing journey. The flow of the book is absolutely perfect, and the questions raised in it are really thought-provoking. The romance was really sweet too- with just a dash (not overwhelming) of teen drama. The ending does have a cliffhanger, so be prepared to want to dive into the next book immediately!

Overall, this was a fantastic dystopian book that gives you some big questions to consider. Fans of Divergent and similar styles will really enjoy this one!

Please note that I received a digital copy from the publisher through netgalley. All opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this dystopian which was both romantic and action-packed. Callie was a lead character you believably see rise to the occasion of her circumstances and fight back. I love to see that kind of evolution in a character and I loved her relationship with her sister. The seeing into the future aspect of the story was really heady, Dunn turns the story on its head with several great twists and turns that kept me thinking and good Lord, the ending was killer! I don't want to give it away but holy moly! I'm dying for the sequel.
