The book, Future, captures the fantastical imaginings of the author and illustrator, Maria Jose Ferrada and Mariana Alcantara, from when they were young children. Many dreamlike future scenarios are imagined such as it being possible to travel to Mars for school using a special backpack. It describes the future as silvery and the illustrations are impressionistic and vague tuning into the mindspace of imagination. This book has a whimsical impressionistic feeling that channels our childlike fantasies before we’ve grown up too much.
