Patti Yoon is the PKD (Perfect Korean Daughter). Shes on target to be the class valedictorian, she is a violin prodigy, and (most likely) will be headed to Harvard/Yale/Princeton in the fall. But is being perfect good enough? Pattis parents have very high expectations of her. Assistant concertmaster? Not good enough. Less than 2,300 on the SATs? Not good enough. While Patti also wants success, sometimes she just wants to listen to her favorite boy band and hang out with the new guy in town. Her parents would definitely not approve.

In this laugh-aloud book, Patti Yoon must learn how to balance her parents happiness with her own. She learns that success doesnt necessarily mean happiness, and that sometimes you just need to follow your heart.

I really enjoyed this book. It was interesting, fun and hard to put down. Its more than a story about one girls life. The author includes her favorite Korean recipes and shows us a bit of what its like to live with immigrant parents, who really want a better life for their children.

Even though this book is about a 17 year old girl, it is still appealing (and appropriate) to all ages. I really recommend this book!
