The Gossip Girl series may seem very provacative and materialistic, but it really is a guilty pleasure. This is the 3rd book in the series, and you seriously cannot put it down. It follows the fabulous lives of a few students in New York City. They are rich, beautiful, smart, edgy, and fun. There is always so much drama and gossip going around. Serena is being fallen in love with by a rock star, Blair needs to work on her application to Yale, again. Nate is starting to want to get back with Blair, young Jenny is in love with Nate and really thinks he loves her back, Dan can't seem to be inspired to write a decent poem, and Vanessa wants to make the best film ever. But things don't always turn out right, and even a holiday vaction to St. Bartz can't make things better. But Serena holds the biggest, coolest New Year's Eve Party that makes some things seem a bit ok. But not for all.
