GREAT WHITE SHARK follows a female shark as she goes through life. It teaches children shark behaviors like how they swim, how they eat, and how they have babies. Sharks are loners of the animal kingdom, which is something I didn't know. The texts switch between a bigger one that follows the main character, and smaller font that teaches some interesting facts. Like that sharks don't chew and that they have a sixth sense that helps them find prey.

For teaching about such an aggressive animal, the illustrations are surprisingly made up of softer, dark colors. The details of the ocean life around the sharks are beautiful. There's a lot of information formatted in a way to help children retain more knowledge about sharks. In the back of the book, there's more information about Great White Sharks along with an index that makes it easier to find certain facts you may want to reread.

Final Verdict: I would recommend this to shark fans or for teachers who are teaching about ocean life in their classes. As an adult, I loved sharing this with my daughter because I was able to learn a bit of new information right along with her. Like I didn't know sharks were loners. I assumed they travelled in packs like wolves. It's nice seeing sharks get the appreciation they deserve.
