GRISELDA SNOOK'S SPECTACULAR BOOKS is a delightful celebration of books with a bit of Halloween flair. Henry is walking one day when he finds a key - it is the key to Griselda Snook's bookshop, and she invites him inside. Even though he is not that into books, she promises that he just has not yet found the one made for him. As he spends the day in the bookshop with plenty of customer's concerns and excitements, he ends up identifying the perfect book for him and has had a fabulous day.

What I loved: This is an engaging and exciting read that celebrates the idea that there is a book for everyone, even if each book is not itself for every reader. The story brings in plenty of Halloweenish flair with pumpkins, werewolves, Billy Bolt (similar to Frankenstein's monster), and the witchy author who is visiting. Books really come to life in this bookshop, and the excitement of reading pours through the story.

The illustrations are absolutely fantastic with a clever use of color, plenty of detail, and loads of Halloween vibes. The characters are very expressive, and the text is arranged around them expertly. The font itself is clear and easy to read throughout, making this a good pick for sharing. This will work well for preschoolers on up and is a great pick for fall!

Final verdict: GRISELDA SNOOK'S SPECTACULAR BOOKS is a charming and clever picture book that celebrates reading and sharing the magic of stories. Highly recommend for preschoolers on up!
