For fans of the Shopkins phenomenon, this product has a lot going for it.
Vibrant, cheerful, and devastatingly cutsie. This activity book is composed of 85 pages worth of coloring, mazes, connect-the-dots, drawing prompts, writing prompts, color-by-numbers, word finds, puzzles, spot-the-differences, and of course stickers–along with several additional pages worth of answer keys at the back for those activities that require it. A semi-study paperback, it measures a generous 11 x 8.5 inches. Each activity has clear instructions given in a sufficiently large font—worded in a light and encouraging manner.
While it is recommended for ages 4 and up, I can report that my 8-year-old son took an immediate interest, and committed himself to doing 2 activities per night before bed. It has kept him busy and interested for several weeks now, while passively orienting him to a benign conversation topic many of his friends are interested in. I particularly appreciate that it is playfully giving him practice at following written directions.
No complaints from this mom!
