Soren, Gylfie, Twilight, and Digger must travel to the Great Ga'Hoole Tree, a mythical place where an order of owls rises each night to perform noble deeds for the greater good. Soren and his group are seeking help to fight the evil they discovered in the owl world, the group owls they discovered in St Aggie's who are bringing terror to owls over the country. Will they find it, or is it just like Soren's brother said, it doesn't exist.

I loved The Journey as much as The Capture. I love the style that this book is written in. The owls have all the same feelings as humans do, but it still holds that quality that makes the characters stay owls. Little snippets that no one notices the moment they read it, but register it later on when the book is pulled together at the end.

In The Journey, I got to see more of Digger and Twilight. When I read the first book, I thought that they wouldn't be that important characters, but with this book, you get to learn a whole much about them. They are different to Soren and Gylfie, and bring light to the group.

I recommend the entire Guardians of Ga'Hoole to children everywhere. It is way better than the movie, and deserves a try. Even adults will enjoy this book, it brings smiles, tears, laughter and joy. Take a magical journey into this amazing book, take flight with the owls.

Grank raises the hatchling deep in a forest far from owls that would kill the royal chick named Hoole to end the kingly line. His mother comes to visit, in disguise, and departs again. Not even the chick must know his mother's identity. It would give him away as Hrath's heir. Sent by an evil warlord, a hagsfiend attempts to lure young Hoole away when he first learns to fly. Grank realizes that the same evil forces that killed Hrath are after Hoole, and know where he is. To keep him safe, Grank brings him to Beyond the Beyond, a strange land of fiery volcanoes in a barren, icy landscape.

I really liked this book. It wasn't as slow as some of tthe earlier books.

Anyone who likes books about animals and fantasy should read this book.

In this, the second book in the series "Guardians of Ga'hoole" series, Soren and the group of friends travel - with and through obstacles - to the Great Ga'hoole Tree. When they get there, they learn a lot of new things, and they stay together, and continue to perform good noble deeds.
Soren learns about a special skill he has, and how to use it.
This book is, like the others, very well written - flowing, involved, informative adventure. I highly enjoy not just that it is a good fantasy adventure, but that it is also based on real owl behavior. But it is clearly a fantasy, wher the owl read, write, and do other stuff. Highly recommended.
