An intriguing first book paves the way for more adventures to come...

Mean aunt and uncle. Spoiled cousin. A kind, giant groundskeeper. A ragged Sorting Hat. An obnoxious enemy. Two loyal friends. A stinky ogre. The Forbidden Forest. Wizard's chess. Elixir of life. Ear wax-flavored jelly bean. Mix this all up into a book and welcome to the world of Harry Potter! Everyone's heard of Harry Potter, right?

Two years ago, I wouldn't have cared even a tiny bit who Harry Potter was. I didn't know what all the hype was about, but I decided to check out the movie from the library because I was bored one day. Boy, was I ever surprised. The movie mixes magic, mystery, and adventure - three must haves. Then, I decided to buy all of the Harry Potter books because the book is always better than the movie, right? Every kid can relate to Harry Potter. His aunts and uncle despise him. No one wants to be Harry's friend because they are all afraid of Harry's cousin. One day, Harry finds out that he is a wizard and has been accepted to Hogswarts. Harry then has something to look forward to in his miserable life. In his new school, he makes many great friends and some occasional enemies. Read this book and follow Harry on his adventure at Hogwarts. And while you're at it, read the rest of the series. My favorite part is when Hermione, who is usually the smart one, couldn't figure out how to save Harry and Ron from devil's snare using fire when the answer was so obvious. That was hilarious and made my day. (The specific dialogue is NOT in the movie.)

Any kid or adult will enjoy this series. I know I did.

What an incredible book! It grabs you right from the beginning. The adventures of Harry Potter are so exciting. My favorite characters are Harry and his friend Ron. Harry reminds me of myself in some ways and Ron is always getting into trouble which is fun to read. This book is such a page turner and is full of great surprises. It also demonstrates the value of friendship and knowing yourself. I'd recommend this book to young adults. No one under the age of 11 should be reading this on their own. If parents choose to read to their children I think it would be enjoyable that way. It is a lengthly book and a younger child may have trouble reading all of it. It also has many subplots that younger children may not pick up on. The other reason I recommend this book to young adults is because it's a fun book and it brings back a sense of adventure and fantasy to young adults' minds.

I have read all three of the Harry Potter books and I have to say I can't wait for the next one to be released. They were excellent. I purchased them to read to my daughter and realized she is still to young, but then I couldn't put the book down myself. I would recommend these books for not only older children but for adults as well. Bravo to J.K. Rowling for an excellent series.

This book is alot of fun with the moving photos, ghost, trolls, and every flavored candies us muggles don't know exsite. The books are really funny, I especally like Dooby in the second book the third is not out yet but I have no doubt that it will be every bit as fun to read as the first two as no doubt will be the following books.

Harry Potter is a 10 year old boy who has lived with his aunt and uncle since before he can remember. As far as he knows, his parents died in a car crash which left him with a scar on his forehead shaped like a lightning bolt. One day, a mysterious letter comes in the mail. Written on parchment with green ink, Harry wonders what it is, only to have it snached away by his uncle. The next day, more letters come! And more! But Harry can not get a hold of one. But on his 11th birthday, a chance comes to him that will change his life forever! Off to a world of Quidditch, Chocolate Frogs, and a three-headed dog named Fluffy.

Harry Potter is a wizard almost killed by the greatest wizard of them all, Voldemort. His parents were klled and for 11 years he must live with his aunt and uncle, the Dursley's. On his 11th birthday he gets a visit from Hagrid, the game keeper of Hogswart, the school for witches and wizards. He learns about his past and who he is and goes to the school with Hagrid. There he meets friends, Ron and Hermoine, and they can't escape trouble around the school. They learn too much about the school and its secrets until they get involved in a serious and dangerous mystery where Harry will meet once again whith the person who killed his parents.

Once faced with Voldemort he escapes death again and is the hero of the school. This book was very enjoyable. It is a wild ficticious tale about magic and adventure. My favorite character was Harry Potter. He isn't the perfect Angel, but he is a good kid anyway. He is so happy to find out that he is a wizard. He is so nice ! to those smaller than him and those who get picked on. He tries to understand people and their actions.

MY favorite part is when Harry win the Quidditch match for his House and shows that he is just as good as his father was. I think this book is for anyone who has a large imagination. Even if you do not think you would enjoy a book about magic you should still read the book. Nothing like this book has ever been written and you don't know if you like something new if you don't try it. This book is for all ages. If you're young have someone read it to you. If you are old this book is just fun to read on your own. I really enjoyed this book and most people do so read Harry Potter and the Sorcerors Stone!
