Every teenager wishes they were special, and When Harry Potter finds out that he is his life is transformed from a poor boy, bullied by his horrible step parents and their only son, into the worlds greatest wizard. He fights to save his new school, and his new group of friends from evil, and he learns to use his new found special powers.
Good Points
Good starter book for children who are on the verge of teen-hood.Easy characters to follow with Harry Potter being likeable. It was a trend setter that many writers have tried to follow without ever reaching the same heights.

This Book means a lot to me. It was the one that introduced me to the Book World, to that magic place where everything is possible, like what happens in this book.
Is amazing how Rowling manages to make you feel son strong everything that Harry is going thru. I really enjoyed and I absolutely recommend it to any one wanting to read something magical about magic.

I really enjoyed the imagination and the realism put into such a fantasy book. I thought at first before reading the book, 'oh, it's just a silly book about wizards and magic and hocus pocus', but once I had some incentive to read it, I was hooked and can now call myself a Harry Potter fan. J.K. Rowling has created a captivating tale about a young orphaned boy being mistreated by his aunt and uncle then discovering that he is a wizard, and in fact a very powerful one, and learning of his parents' heroic and tragic deaths. And thus begins an amazing series!

Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is a wonderful book to read - young and old. Through the process of the whole story, Harry Potter, an 11-year-old boy who discovers that he is a wizard, experiences hate, love, friendship, adventure, and most of all, surprise. While I was reading it, I was intrigued by what I was reading, so much that I read it almost nonstop, for there are many interesting details and parts of the story not mentioned in the movie. All in all, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the book to read!

THis was JK Rowling's first book and well wow! I absolutely loved this book. Why? Well, I just found this book so hooking and interesting. If you love fantasy, you probably have read Harry Potter and love it. If you don't give it a shot and learn what all the Harry Poter hype is about and where it all started.

I'm sure most of you can remember the first book, yes it's been a long time ago and a lot of books ago. Let me recap: Harry is delivered to the Dursely's (shudder) at midnight after the death of his parents and is raised in a muggle household until Hagrid comes along. He takes Harry under his wing and helps him get to Hogwarts where all the trouble starts. Harry might not know much about his famous past but his classmates sure do. Quickly he makes friends and enemies; preparing for the second time he faces Voldemort.

Quite intriging. Funny, and fastinating. A new look on the word of magic. Characters the range from huge and harmless, to so small they have to posses someone elses body and who are by far the most evil thing ever to exist.
