In this energetic story, Badger LOVES playing music--and the louder, the better! But the other animals in the woods don't quite feel the same way, so Badger sets out looking for a new place to jam. He tries taking a recorder class, but he soon discovers that he'd rather improvise than follow the music. And when he joins a marching band, his cowbell is too much to handle. Will Badger find the perfect place to grow his musical talent?

My heavy metal loving heart loved everything about Heavy Metal Badger.
It is so difficult to find children's books that do not focus on "popular" music genres, I was excited when I saw this one.
Heavy Metal Badger is lyrical and fun. The rhymes often had my children giggling or climbing out of their seats to act the scene out.
I loved how Badger was encouraged to find the music within himself and let it out.
The illustrations were brilliant! They are colorful and lively. There is a lot of movement on each spread that really captures your attention.
The nods to famous bands were amazing. From the little worm quoting "Queen" to the hilarious band name parodies like Ant-Thrax and Dachshund Pumpkins.
Heavy Metal Badger is a laugh-out-loud picture book about finding ones "musical home."
