On paper, seventeen-year-old Natalie Tremayne has it all. She's got stellar grades, a passion for theater, and more than enough talent in the swimming pool to make her plans for four parent-free years at the college of her dreams realistic. The only place she's missing anything is socially: the tall and buoyant body that benefits her in the pool has only ever intimidated the boys at her school.

When the enigmatic new kid Campbell Adams gets the lead role in the school's production of Beauty and the Beast, Natalie begins to wonder if her drought is about to come to an end. Their connection is instant: Campbell is a mystery that Natalie is determined to crack.

But when the secret he's made himself invisible to hide has nothing to do with the Dread Pirate Roberts or sparkling in the sunshine, Natalie finds herself swimming in a whole new pool of reality. With her high school days coming to an end and college on the horizon, Natalie will have to learn that the best way to make the universe laugh is to make a plan, and that the lemonade you make yourself out of life's lemons is the best drink in the world.

HERE'S WHERE SHE MEETS PRINCE CHARMING is a fun, quick read for fans of theater, romance, and a brooding male love interest.

This book hooked me from the very first chapter and kept me reading. I particularly enjoyed the theater subplot. It is a very unique storyline for a YA romance, and, as a theater kid, it was fun to see theater represented in a positive light. It really highlighted the community and competition the atmosphere produces, and watching the cast interact made for some hilarious scenes.

This book also delves into themes of body-shaming and self-image. Natalie's mother has good intentions, but she regulates Natalie's food intake and lectures her on her weight regularly, which negatively impacts Natalie's mental health. This can inspire important discussions about acceptance and body dysmorphia.

I did feel that Natalie and Campbell's relationship was a bit rushed at first, and some of Natalie's behavior was a bit erratic and concerning. In one instance, she follows him in her car to his work location, and he strangely wasn't alarmed after the initial shock of discovering her there wore off. This confused me a bit, but it did make for a few funny moments and blew over quickly.

Overall, this book is swoony, fun, and reminiscent of Netflix's Tall Girl in the best way possible. If you are looking for a quirky young adult novel that will immerse you in the setting and keep you reading, HERE'S WHERE SHE MEETS PRINCE CHARMING is the perfect book for you.

This was a short & sweet, extremely fast-paced read. I liked that there was more depth to the narrative than we usually see in this category, buoyed by realistic dialogue and mannerisms that made for character arcs more reminiscent of the actual coming of age experience than I usually see in YA books.

While I breezed through this book and it kept my attention well enough, it didn't wow me; I think that some of the more serious topics that were touched upon may need to be explored at a greater length in order for the story to feel truly complete.

Many thanks to YABC and Owl Hollow Press for the giveaway win!!
