Its spring! Time to clean the pigs. Farmer resorts to all sorts of tricks to try to clean up his dirty hogs, but the mischievous pigs are determined to remain muddy. No baths for them! Finally Farmer realizes, if you cant beat em, join em.
Written in verse, Hogwash! by Karma Wilson features clever rhymes and an enjoyable tale of a beleaguered farmer. Slightly reminiscent of Click, Clack, Moo, stubborn animals leave messages for the farmer. Fortunately, enough variation exists to end this similarity relatively quickly.
Bright water colors create visual points of interest among the layers of browns that dominate the book. The resulting look appropriately emphasizes dirt, dirt, dirt.
Good, filthy fun for kids who hate bathing, love animals or appreciate a good rhyme.
