In Zoey Redbirds world, vampyres are tolerated in the human world. Those special enough to get marked are enrolled into the House of Night, a school where there are only two choices: survive and become a vampyre or die because the body had rejected the Change. At first, Zoey is frightened about going to the House of Night but with her grandmothers help, is able to make it there. Her mark from the Goddess Nyx is special as it gives her power beyond her age. She matures faster than those her age and has to face with bloodlust, something that only older students would face, as well as the ability to Imprint her ex-almost-boyfriend. However, at the school, she finds true friendship, loyalty, romance and magic that she has never seen before. However, lies and mistrust lurks everywhere. Zoey soon finds that not everything is as it seems in the vampyre world and she must take action to fix it. The plotline is very fast, way too fast at the end but it is full of suspense as well. The reader is able to relate to the protagonist, Zoey, since she is a high school student as well. The book was very intense and kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it.

Zoey is a normal teenager that attends high school. She's not overly popular, but she is well liked. She always has a loser almost-boyfriend and a dysfunctional family. One day, that all comes crashing down. She gets marked, on her forehead, a crescent moon. Meaning, that her body is changing into a vampyre and she must move away from her friends and family and attend a house of night school.

More than anything, Zoey wants to fit in at her new school. She doesn't want to be a loner, and she wants to make friends. She's afraid what all the other vampyres' in changing will think when her crescent is more mature than the rest, even though she's only just started the change.

I liked this book a lot. It is DEFINITELY unique. In this book there are 5 elements that play a key role in this story. Wind, Earth, Fire, Water and the Soul. Also what makes this book unique and interesting is how all the vampyre teens attend their own little school, in which their bodies undergo changes. Some teenagers' bodies don't accept the change and die. It's just a unique book to read and it's one of my favorites.

Mark is about this girl named Zoey. Zoey has just been marked as a vampyre. Now she must move away from her friends and family and start over at a vampyre school. If that isn't hard enough, her crescent (that all vampyre's have), is mature and all ready filled completely in, even though it's not supposed to be filled in yet. And some vampyres' bodies do not accept the change from human to vampyre, and they die in the process.

I like this book because it's unique. The authors really put a lot of thought and imagination into this book (and series). They didn't go with the cliché of vampires, instead they started their own thoughts and ideas on them. It really is a good book.

Zoey Redbird has just been marked. Marked by the vampyre goddess Nyx who also gives her extraordinary powers that she does not discover until close to the end of the book. Zoey is going through major changes in her life, 1. she is no longer human, 2. she's going to a whole new school 3. she is different from the rest of the third former fledglings. Her mark on her forehead was completely colored in way ahead of time, she craving blood before any of her friends are, and she has affinity for all five elements: spirit, air, water, fire, earth which is how P.C. & Kristin Cast mix supernatural things with magic. Vampyres that use magic to save the day. Anyway there's a group called the Dark Daughters and they invite her to join hoping that she wouldn't want to join and she didn't want to but she knew she had to so she could have access to take over the evil leader Aphrodite and change the group. Zoey didnt want all this to happen; she only wanted to be a normal vampyre. In the end Zoey is the new leader of the Dark Daughters and on a new mission to change the regulations required to join the Dark Daughters.
