Jane Yolen and Mark Teague have teamed up for another dinosaurs book and this time the big, scaly and spotted creatures are going to school. This book follows the same format as others in the series: it starts off with the main question (How does a dinosaur go to school?) and then goes on to ask questions about the ways he (hopefully) isnt going to school (Does he make a big fuss? Does he interrupt class with his own show-and-tell?). At the end we find out what dinosaurs do when they go to school (he tidies his desk, etc.).

The illustrations, as always, are spot-on, with the huge dinosaurs interacting with the school children on every page. Teague has a nice style straightforward, colorful, and fun. The expressions on the childrens faces (not to mention the dinosaurs) are always engaging.

I find these books to make really good read-alouds. As you ask each question you can pause for a response from your listeners and let them interact with the story. I imagine this particular one would work really well with new kindergarteners or pre-schoolers.

Recommended for dinosaur fans (you know who you are!) and readers up to age 6.
