How Do You Become an Olympian? teaches kids just about everything they would want to know about becoming an Olympian.
We're given information from the first games, long ago, to what they are now in the present. The information isn't as overwhelming as some of the other How Do You books and sticks mainly to facts and fun tidbits. There were a lot of things I did not know that I'm glad I got to learn along side my children.
There is a nice focus on good sportsmanship, which often gets overlooked when it comes to winning and losing. The section about athletes that have actually participated in the Olympics was a nice touch, especially those from recent years that kids can make a connection to.
I loved the hosting your own Olympic Games in your backyard section! You could incorporate this with many different lessons, spanning over a week or longer.
The illustrations are great! There is a lot of movement in each sport represented.
This would make a wonderful addition to anyone's library and a valuable learning tool!
