How it Works: Shark is a short board book that reviews different parts of a shark and how those parts work together. The book goes from the outside features of a shark and through each layer on the inside. This book includes several fun facts about sharks in bubbles given by a mouse.

What I like:

This book will draw the attention of younger children from the front cover. Throughout the book, you learn more about sharks and how their bodies work. The information is shared in a manner that younger children can understand and allows for conversations to start about sharks.

The images in the book make sharks and other ocean animals appear friendly and fun. I loved how each page goes deeper into the shark and separates the images so the images shown are what is being spoken about.

What left me wanting more: This book was a bit difficult to read on some pages due to the darker background and dark font. I would love to read this at times in which limited light may be available and that would make it a bit hard.

Final verdict:

How It Works: Shark is a fantastic board book to introduce younger readers to sharks. This book is great for children who are interested in ocean animals as well as older kids who just want more information about sharks. Adults will enjoy reading this book to little ones and may learn a fun fact or two themselves.
