As a former library storytime leader, I'm always on the lookout for books that channel kids' natural energy in a positive, constructive way. "I Am Wriggly" absolutely nails it with its bouncing, rhythmic text that just begs to be read aloud with lots of movement and participation.

Michael Rosen's mastery of language creates a story that's both entertaining and developmentally appropriate, mirroring the irrepressible energy of young children. Robert Starling's vibrant illustrations bring the exuberant bunny protagonist to life, making this a delightful read for home or the classroom. The interactive suggestions sprinkled throughout the book further enhance the reading experience, though the pure storytelling still holds up on its own.

While the book celebrates active, wiggly behavior, it also opens the door for discussions about self-regulation. The honesty in depicting a child's inability to "hold still" creates genuine moments for caregivers to share strategies for transitioning from high-energy play to calmer states. Overall, "I Am Wriggly" is a fantastic choice for young readers who need to move and groove.
