A very cute and fun little story to read to the babies in our lives.

The book:
The most important person in most babies lives is their mother (sorry dads). They do so much to shape us. It's a complex relationship that this book strips down to it's most basic roots. This is what my mommy does for me. Each page depicts a different animal with their young and a single line saying "My mommy ..." It's a straightforward representation of one of the biggest things we share with other species - love for our young.

What I loved:
It's adorable. The cover image doesn't quite give justice to just how cute and well done the images are on the inside. Like the story itself, they're simple, and that's all they need to be. The repetition of the types of phrases is easy to read and makes it fun to share with a kid. And the story itself is one I could tell them over and over again, one they'd love to hear over and over again.

What was just okay:
Just like it's partner book, the age range on this seems off. I read it with a very young child - 0-2 - but the three year old is very must past this type of book. One of the reasons is because it's a board book. That automatically makes it seem younger. But it's also too few words for older toddlers, unless it's being used to help them begin reading.

Final Verdict:
A cute and fun way to showcase the sacred mother-child relationship.
