I LOVE YOU LITTLE KANGAROO is a cute board book that will appeal to babies and young toddlers. The book walks through some animals that rhyme with kangaroo, before getting to the mirror page where the book says that it loves you too. The collection of animals includes a cockatoo, emu, shrew, and caribou.
What I loved: This is a super simple concept, but babies will love it! Repeating phrases ("I love you") and rhyming text are great for the littlest of readers, and the mirror at the end only adds to the fun. The book moves super fast and features stunning images of adult-child pairs of animals on each spread. As the animals are not labeled by relation, this works for any caregiver to read to a little one. The watercolor imagery is gorgeous on each page, making this fun to look at, and the very thick board book pages make this quite sturdy for even the rough readers.
What left me wanting more: As a small thing, the mirror is very bumpy and warped, so it is tough to really see into it.
Final verdict: I LOVE YOU LITTLE KANGAROO is a lovely board book that will be a pleasure to share between baby and caregiver.
