Hello YABC readers! I’m Sarah Jude, and I’m so thrilled to share with you the cover of my YA horror novel, THE MAY QUEEN MURDERS! The artwork is everything I could have hoped for. I’m a very visual person and spend a lot of my time when I’m not writing either drawing or painting, so cover art is one of my favorite things to imagine. For THE MAY QUEEN MURDERS, I had hopes of something eerie and nightmarish, something to capture the quiet isolation of the characters and their backwoods commune in the Missouri Ozarks. The image, which was taken by a Polish artist named Marcin Nagraba, evokes that kind of creepy, moody darkness that surrounds the main character Ivy as she uncovers secrets about everything and everyone she has ever known.

About the Author

Sarah Jude lives by the woods and has an owl that lands on her chimney every night. She grew up believing you had to hold your breath whenever you passed a graveyard or a bridge spanning water. Now she writes about cemeteries, murder, and ghostly apparitions. She resides in Missouri with her husband, three children, and three dogs.

This book sounds amazing and the sypnosis really gets you excited to read it, the cover increases that excitement and it’s definitely the kind of book I’d like to have on my shelf!

Loooove the cover! Gives such an eerie feeling and I’m not sure why im obsessed with fonts but I love the font of the title, it just all goes together perfectly.
And the synopsis is amazing! Sounds like my kind of book and I want to read it terribly!

This cover has tremendous visceral appeal. That wild inappropriately hot pink scrawled title catches my eye with a “pop” and draws me to discover all the *dark* places it can take my imagination — I’m caught hook, line & sinker. Thanks for this chance to read for free! Cheers, Kara S

The cover is really catchy and gives a glimpse to the potential eeriness of the novel. The title also gives an indication to the genre of the novel. Can’t wait to read!
