This beautiful book caught my eye right away. A wonderful gift for any Jane Austen fan, the pages are filled with amusing and iconic quotes from the book as well as many familiar scenes from the beloved story. I particularly enjoyed the intricate motifs throughout the book, especially the beautiful fans, feathers and damask patterns from the front cover and inside flap.
The pages are quite thick and just right for worry free coloring with just about any medium, even watercolor. The fine lines allow for more creativity, with bold, thick lines used only when necessary.
You will find flowers throughout, mixed with organic (curvy) patterns and motifs. The last few pages are dedicated to the “language of flowers” where you will discover the symbolic meaning behind the various flowers used in the book.
The way the images bleed into the spine is a little unfortunate as it is somewhat difficult to color comfortably where the page curves into the spine. Users who don’t mind removing a page from the book, will have no trouble reaching those areas. If you're like me and you prefer to leave the pages intact, you may struggle to complete some designs. Also the illustrations of the characters seemed a bit lacking in comparison to the careful detail given elsewhere. But overall, still a stunning book.
From cover to cover, you will rediscover your fondest memories of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, enjoying the intricate designs and familiar quotes along the way. A perfect gift for almost any reader, but particularly for those die hard Austen fans.
