Ofrenda to Honor Death of a Pet
Remembering is a heartfelt tribute to losing a special pet in a child’s life. To honor the beloved dog, one family creates an Ofrenda during Dias De Muertos to help celebrate the special memories they have of their pet. The back matter contains directions on how to create your own Ofrenda as well as the cultural significance of this tradition. The illustrator does a great job of using warm tones and conveying a sense of being surrounded by memories of the pet. Overall, this is a great book for any child dealing with the loss of a beloved pet and a means to honor them which can bring comfort.
