Kids in the Holiday Kitchen

Dont be fooled. We arent just talking the holidays that happen in December. There are so many things I like about this book Im afraid I wont be able to mention them all. Lists work for Santa; heres one from me:

1. Beautiful Photography. Clear, crisp pictures that show the finished products as well as children enjoying them.

2. Sturdy Construction. When I use a book with recipes, I want the publisher to expect ingredients to hit the page. This one wipes off quite nicely. I experimented with egg.

3. Recipes for Everything. Too many holiday books for kids focus on the sugar factor. Not this one. Included are recipes for Homemade Marinara with Fusilli and a Breakfast Cheese Souffle. They might call them Rudolphs Red Sauce and Happy Holiday Puff, but you dont have to. At least until next year.

4. The Sugar Factor. Yum. Chocolate-Carmel Popcorn? Gingerbread People? Chocolate Truffles? Mint Chocolate Brownies? Sign me up.

5. Tips and Tools and Safety Guidelines. For the practical among us.

6. Super Cute Crafts. Some are holiday themed, but the majority will translate throughout the year.

7. Kid AND Mom Friendly. You dont have to be Martha to figure out anything in this book. And truthfully? Thats a welcome relief.

Highly recommended for anyone who can make, bake or give. Or eat!
