Kwanzaa (Celebrate the World) reviews the beginning of Kwanzaa on December 26th and the seven days that make up this African American and pan-African holiday. This board book teaches young children about the celebration of Kwanzaa as well as its importance.

What I liked: It's important that children learn about various holiday traditions outside of the ones that their family celebrates. I love how Kwanzaa is introduced in this book, first, you learn about the overall celebration and then the important objects that are placed out for Kwanzaa, then you learn about each of the days of Kwanzaa in relation to their principles and how they are celebrated.

I appreciate that each page breaks down the days of Kwanzaa, what the days mean, and how they are celebrated. While the first image showcases all of the objects discussed as part of the celebration, the kinara is highlighted in each image showing the importance of this item to their celebration.

Final Verdict: Kwanzaa is a colorful and informative board book about the celebration of Kwanzaa. It teaches young children the importance of the holiday and the significance of each day of Kwanzaa.
