My three-year-old hasn't been interested in counting much higher than 20 for quite some time. Then we "read" this book. Actually, there's not much to read throughout this colorful book, but there are lot's of things to count, and my daughter wants me to count it all! Not only that, but she herself says that SHE wants to count, and she has been doing an excellent job at it. This book is a great motivator to learn HOW to count (as in, not just reciting numbers in order but the concept of three vs. four, for example). She also grabs the book and just studies the pictures and counts on her own at least once a day. Each group of animals or scenes has neat tidbits to search for and discover, and there's even a list of specific things to look for at the end.
