Three tales of supernatural love, each pivoting on a kiss that is no mere kiss, but an action with profound consequences for the kissers' souls:

Goblin Fruit: In Victorian times, goblin men had only to offer young girls sumptuous fruits to tempt them to sell their souls. But what does it take to tempt today's savvy girls?

Spicy Little Curses: A demon and the ambassador to Hell tussle over the soul of a beautiful English girl in India. Matters become complicated when she falls in love and decides to test her curse.

Hatchling: Six days before Esme's fourteenth birthday, her left eye turns from brown to blue. She little suspects what the change heralds, but her small safe life begins to unravel at once. What does the beautiful, fanged man want with her, and how is her fate connected to a mysterious race of demons?

What happens when a kiss is more than a kiss?

That's the question each of Laini Taylor's short stories explore in Lips Touch: Three Times.

We all know a kiss can mean something powerful in the mortal realm -- but what if it meant the difference between life or death? What if it meant more than whether it was stolen, or sweet, or salty from tears?

With a blend of superstition, religion, myth, and cultures both strange and exotic, Lips Touch takes readers on three lovely journeys they'll want to take again and again.

It's hard to say which of Taylor's short stories was my favorite: Goblin Fruit, Spicy Little Curses, or Hatchling. If I had to pick one, I'd probably pick Goblin Fruit, simply because I related to it the most. But each story is crafted with Taylor's unique and lyrical wordplay, drawing readers in with slender, satin fingers and entrancing them like whispered spells.

If you're looking for haunting, delicious prose, look no further. With this book, Laini Taylor has become one of my favorite authors of all time.

4.5 Stars!

This was definitely an interesting and captivating compilation of short stories by Laini Taylor.

It was filled with Laini’s usual dark and intriguing writing and it just drew me in. I enjoyed reading it and as a fan of Laini’s other works, I was not disappointed! Plus the illustrations were nice too.

Great spicy compilation of three deadly kisses in the world of fantasy
Good Points
Since childhood I’ve always enjoyed short stories. It’s good to feel it again at mid 20s hehe! No doubt, it will do me again and again everytime I encounter great short stories in the present generation.

Laini Taylor has done a great job putting these together and writing them in such a clever way your fantasies on the “other world” just gets so wildly although sometimes it feels creepy especially the goblins and their fruits.
