A fun alphabet adventure.
The story:
Little i loses his dot. It fell of and rolled away so he embarked on a mission to recover that part of himself. And some adventure it is. He must go across the sea where he finds islands and caves, all the while spelling out many of the things he sees or says.
What I loved:
With the right kid, this book can teach a lot. There's a lot of bright colors to keep them engages and words that are spelled out. The adventure is fun enough to entertain them. The illustrations are what really shine.
What was just okay:
It's a book that's ability to keep a kid interested will depend on the deliverer. And also on the mindset of the child at the time. This is because it feels like a book that should be trying to teach, but it trying to seem like it isn't. There's a fine line between educational books and books that just throw educational stuff in hoping it sticks without sticking out.
Final verdict:
A fun way to work on spelling and letter recognition with engaging images and an exciting story.
