Lizzy finds the perfect cloud pet and names it Milo. She carefully reads the instructions for caring for a pet cloud and helps Milo grow bigger and bigger. Soon, Milo is huge and can't fit in Lizzy's room any more. Lizzy has to decide to do what is best for Milo.
LIZZY AND THE CLOUD is a cute, fun take on a pet story. The conclusion takes a different turn than most pet stories do, and it provides a beautiful example of what love means and how to love something or someone that isn't ideal for your space or life at the moment.
The illustrations are very soft and perfectly match the rainy mood. I especially loved the scenes with Lizzy's plant area that Milo watered. Since Milo is a cloud, there are later scenes featuring the sky, and the images of Lizzy looking up at the sky are touching.
