This sweet follow-up to LONELY BIRD is a story of individuality and discovering where you fit in that immediately caught my attention and warmed my heart.

Lonely Bird is a bird unlike any other. She is made of paper and nearly wingless, making her unable to fly-at least in the way other birds do. She must get creative and forge her own path if she wishes ever to be able to fly, so she begins carefully studying and conducting experiments to obtain this goal.

Lonely Bird is such a loveable heroine. The book begins with her feeling filled with curiosity and wonder at the world around her. She is amazed by the birds she sees and wonders why it is that she can't fly like they do. After an inspiring dream, she soon decides to take matters into her own hands and begins studying old flying machines and experimenting with what she can find around her to make this dream come true.

Multiple wonderful lessons can be learned from Lonely Bird's creativity and ingenuity. She will inspire kids to be creative, work to reach their goals, and not give up when presented with an obstacle. Another lesson that can be learned from her story is to not be afraid to forge your own path and find where you fit in.

Complex, artistic illustrations contrast well with the simplicity of Lonely Bird's design. Rich colors and beautiful scenes make each turn of the page a new thrill.

LONELY BIRD'S DREAM is a unique and touching story, and I was rooting for Lonely Bird all the way. Everyone can benefit from reading this book.
