Ideal for beginning readers and avid young fans of the LEGO Ninjago Movie.

Lord Gamadon is about as lousy of a father as you might expect. It comes as a shock to him when—at the end of a fight with the Ninjago—the green ninja reveals himself to be his son, Lloyd. (He also doesn’t know how to pronounce his own son’s name, despite the fact that he named him.) It’s clear that Lloyd is hurt by the whole situation, but Lord Gamadon is pretty oblivious as to why.

The story itself is told entirely from the villain’s point of view. Though it makes mention of Lord Garmadon not always being evil, this isn’t an origin story. It isn’t explained why he became a bad guy, or why he’s so focused on conquering Ninjago City. (Or… you know… why he has two sets of arms and glowing red eyes.) In a sense, it’s less of a story and more of a quick overview on the Ninjago conflict from an >i>extremely unreliable narrator.

This story + sticker book is made up of nearly full-page still shots. The font is large, and there’s anywhere from a single sentence to a paragraph on every page. (8 character stickers are included as a bonus on the final page.)
