I didn't like this book at all. We has to read it for grade 11 english and I hated reading it. I found that it was very unrealistic and odd. A bunch of boys are stranded on an island and create these absturd ways of living. I don't recommend it to anyone.

I thought this bookwas amazing. This book really shows what life stranded on a island would really be like. This book shows concerns, thoughts, needs, feelings and nightmares really well; i think the author did a good job.

this was a horrible book!!! It starts out good and interesting, then all the boys turn into little heathans. Symbolism? sure, kill off a couple more, and we'll see if everyone get's the picture!

Althought I liked this book, it was still more of a guys book to me. I liked the way that Golding used things to symbolize civilazation. Like with Piggy's glasses, if you noticed after the glasses were broke all of the young boys stared to break apart. This is a good book if you like thing that deal with survival, personaly, it's not a book that i would have picked for myself.

Imagine 20 boys all alone on a deserted island without a single parent to tell them what to do. In Lord of the Flies, this situation occurs. 20 boys are brought down to this island off the coast of South America due to a terrible plane crash that killed the pilot (the only adult on the plane). The boys range from ages 6-14. The main character, Ralph, is a 14 year old and is selected to be the leader. It takes place around modern day. I think that William Golding, the author, does a very good job of explaining the expressions and feelings that the boys, young and old, have. As you can probably see, I thought that it was a great book and recommend it to any people (boys or girls) who may like adventure books.
