When we first meet Carrie, the protagonist of Lucky T, she is a self-absorbed, selfish and very superstitious girl. Her luckiest possession is a t-shirt that her dad (now absentee and divorced from her mother) gave her. When her mother accidentally gives the shirt away to a charity group, Carrie is determined to get it back, especially after her popular & cute boyfriend breaks up with her and she and her best friend are on the outs.

Most people would give up when they discover that the shirt is on a plane to India, but not Carrie. She convinces her mother to let her travel to India with her mom's best friend (Celia) and daughter (Doreen, or Dor-mean, as Carrie likes to call her). To show just how out of touch Carrie is with the world around her, the first thing she says once off the plane is about how she'd love a cheeseburger. That doesn't go over very well with the natives and it gets worse from there as she manages to ruin a day's work on her first day with Help India (they build houses for people, similar to Habitat for Humanity).

As luck would have it, Carrie meets up with Dee, a gorgeous college student who happens to volunteer at a local orphanage. Carrie switches to volunteering there and the reader finally begins to see some worth in our heroine as she bonds with the kids. Carrie begins to wake up to what the real world is like and that other people have it much harder than she can even imagine.

Carrie and Dee's romance goes up and down as Dee continually discovers facets of Carrie's personality (some good, some bad). The big question when Carrie finally finds the t-shirt against all odds, does she 'steal' it off the back of a child living in a woman's shelter or does she become a bigger person?

By the end of the book, I liked Carrie. That was a hard sell for me, because she is such a snot in the beginning, even shutting out her best friend and mother for no good reason. She shows real growth through the course of the novel. I recommend this book to readers aged 12 and up, primarily girls, though the basketball talk may pull some boys in.

I saw the book Lucky T, by Kate Brian, in my school's library and I picked it up as soon as I saw it. I love to read drama books so much, I actually put down the other book in my hand and picked this one up instead. I read the short summary thing back, flipped through a couple of pages, and I found out that Carrie goes to India! I was born in Bombay, India, so I thought that was really cool! I wanted to read this book so badly! I finished it in less than a week. To be honest, I couldn't stop reading it.

Carrie Fitzgerald has this Lucky T that is like the source of all her good luck. It's tucked safe somewhere in her bed. She has had a lot of good luck. It all started in the 5th grade, when the T-shirt was given to her by her father, expressed as "lucky". Ever since, Carrie has had good luck. She has a boyfriend, (Not too smart or bright), Straight A's, and she's on the basketball team. She has a ton of clothes, too! but, suddenly, on her and her boyfriend's anniversary, her T-shirt was on the doorknob and slipped into the pile of clothes to be donated to Help India. Her mom donates it and it ends up somewhere in India. On that same day, her boyfriend dumps her and she gets in a fight with her best friend. The only thing she has to do now is go to India and find it. She finds adventure, love, and....
You'll have to read the book to find out what's next!!!

Overall, I loved this book. It was filled with descriptive words and such interesting things! I loved this book A LOT! I can't wait to read the other books written by the amazing author, Kate Brian! I hope they make a movie of this book!!!!! Or even a part two continuing her adventure!!

Lucky T was a really good book. Carrie has everything she could possibly want at the beginning, but when her mom accidentally donates her Lucky T to Help India, Carrie's life turns upside down. Her adorable boyfriend breaks up with her so he can hang with his friends, Carrie and her best friend have a huge argument, and she gets a bad grade on a biology test. Carrie is convinced this is because she doesn't have her Lucky T. Out of desperation, Carrie begs her mother to allow her to travel with her friend to India. While in India, Carrie wants to find friends and love as well as her Lucky T. Find out just how far she will go to find what she needs the most.

So, I really happened to like this book. Even though it was a little random and out of there, it was good. Not to critize or anything but seriously who would go all the way to India to find a t-shirt. However, I guess it did mean a lot to Carrie and I guess if it was that important then go for it. Why not? Carrie's father left her and her mother. But when he was still with them he traveled a lot on business. One time he traveled and he bought her a red t-shirt with a green star on it. Carrie considered this shirt her "lucky shirt".

this book is pretty interesting. I never expected her to go all the way to india to retrieve her shirt. she must be THAT unlucky without it. although i really loved this book, its kinda funny how she trusted this indian boy with a sexy accent(love him!) right away. Like she's in a different country and all that. I dunno. Anyways, this book overall has a different taste in it and this is the first time ive read a book that involved a shirt and a hawt brown guy! :D

Dodging cracks on the side-walk, never opening an umbrella inside a building, and never walking under a ladder has become natural to Carrie because she is very superstitious. She does all that to avoid bad luck. Maybe that is why she treasures her red t-shirt. Carrie received the lucky T in the 3rd grade and has kept it ever since because once she put it one a series of fortunate events happened to her. Her good luck quickly changed to bad luck when her mother accidentally gave her T-shirt to charity. Not that big of a deal, right? Wrong because the donations are going to India! When Carrie learns this bit of info, she freaks because her good luck is gone and everything?s going wrong. Instantly she is buying a plane ticket to India and planning her trip. Carrie suspects that she will began searching right away and continue looking until she finds it. Wrong again, because the good looks and kind notions of Dee, a boy that grew up in India, distract her. Will she ever find her Lucky T? Will it matter? I absolutely loved this book. Not only was it funny, but I could not put it down. It started out slowly and took awhile to get started. However, once it started going it was incredible! I liked be able to see some of India?s culture. If you are looking for an interesting, entertaining, and funny book, the Lucky T is for you.

When i first read this book, i liked it. But when i read it again, i absolutely loved it. That's because i realized that she became a different person when she was in India. And that Dee helpd make her a better person.

I also liked the fact that Dee and Carrie's relationship wasn't perfect. By that i mean, they didn't not fight. They fought a lot and i think that makes the book realistic. Also what happend between Jason and Carrie. That could happen between any couple. And of course Pipper and Carrie. All best friends fight over stupid things. And they eventually make up.

I think this book is awesome. It made me really sad to have finished it. The Carrie person at the end of the story sounds like a person that I would like to hang out with. I just can't seem to find a better book than this one! My friend even likes this book! And when she likes a book it's a very good thing.(She does not like to read a lot)I REALLY LOVE THIS BOOK!

When I first saw the title I thought a book about a T-shirt what the heck? But after I read it I did not want it to end. This story was awesome and teen girls will love it. I hope she writes a sequel to this. I think this book proves you could lose something and go looking for but realize you did not need it at all. So again awesome book!

When I began to read Lucky T I was instantly absorbed. From the first three words I was right there with the straight A, perfect life, lucky teenager Carrie Fitzgerald and her best friend. I saw Carrie as your average teenager, trying to do what you think is right, but messing up occasionally. By the third chapter of Lucky T, you already have a wide cast of unique characters all with their own personalties, and there are still more to come. In the beginning, you leap right into the classic teenage drama; boys. After Carrie finds out her lucky t-shirt(given to her by her father, who she rarely sees) Carrie is convinced her luck is ruined. It doesn't get much better when her sexy, popular boyfriend, Jason dumps her, and she gets a D on a test.

Carrie decides that she must travel to India with her mom's friend, Cecila, and her daughter, Doreen(Dor-mean), and get her T-shirt back. For Carrie, the first couple of days in India for her didn't go very well. She causes turmoil for the charity groups, insults natives of India, and ends up with some wicked misquieto bites.

Finally, Carrie meets the cute Dee, a charity worker at a childrens shelter. Carrie and Dee's romance rises and falls as Carrie and Dee learn more about one and other.

All in all, Lucky T is a very good read, a great book, and keeps you turning pages until you find out whether Carrie Fitzgerald will or won't get her lucky t-shirt back.
