MAISY LOVES TREES is a fun board book that explores trees along with Maisy! The book includes basic facts about trees, such as the parts of a tree, how they grow, and how they change during the year. Alongside each page of facts is a small sentence that shows how Maisy interacts with the trees, such as by climbing them or picking pears from a tree.

What I loved: Young readers love recognizable characters, and Maisy is a particularly fun one. With thick, bold lines and bright, contrasting colors, Maisy is just the right speed for toddlers and preschoolers. This new board book series adds a lot of educational content about nature alongside a beloved character, helping little ones to get into what they are learning. The amount of content and words on each page will work best for toddlers and preschoolers, as they pages are slow to turn - but with so much to learn, this will be a hit for growing minds.

The end of the book also includes a large flap/fold out with some of Maisy's friends for some extra fun. Clear labels throughout will aid in early word recognition, and while young readers may know some of the facts about trees, this book brings simplicity to the topic and breaks things down simply for them. Little ones will enjoy the fiction alongside the facts and can think about ways that they interact with trees in their own lives.

What left me wanting more: As a very small thing, some of the backgrounds were a bit dark with the black text that made it a bit tough to read, particularly in low light settings such as at night.

Final verdict: MAISY LOVES TREES is an enjoyable and educational board book that will delight toddlers and preschoolers as they learn about nature.
