What worked: Great way to make reading the classics more fun! I'm a huge fan of graphic novels. Manga Classics Hamlet uses this style to make the classics more accesible, especially for those who find them difficult to understand.

The illustrations bring to life Hamlet's story. From him seeing his murdered father's ghost. To Hamlet's plan to act insane and then even poor Ophelia's fate. Fast-pacing, with engaging illustrations that pull the reader in.

The only thing that I felt hindered an otherwise engaging story had to be the dialogue throughout. Even though the author condensed and brought her own way of retelling the story, I was confused at times. I ended up going online to read quick recaps of the story to reachor myself. At the end of the book the author does give a recap on how she adapted the tale. I'd recommend readers to read that first. That does help for those who haven't read Hamlet before now.

One huge thing I did like is how this graphic novel would be perfect for those reluctant readers in high school English classes, where the classics are part of the recommended curriculum. Manga adaptations bring to life otherwise slow, hard to understand classics.

Great adaption of a classic tale. Sure to appeal to Manga fans and those who want to read a classic.
