If I had this book as a kid, I would've gotten lost in it, day in, day out. Oh, who am I kidding? Readers are going to get lost in this book no matter what their age.

This hardcover book is printed in large format which makes for a great lie-on-the-floor read. Not only does every page showcase an entire country, complete with population facts and capitals, but the illustrators include cultural highlights, as well as native plants and animals. I especially enjoyed the sea creatures tucked here and there among the oceans and seas.

This isn't a comprehensive series of maps by any means, but this book makes the world map fun and accessible for kids. This would also make a great reference guide for class projects.

Highly recommend!
