After having her heartbroken by J.R., Kassidy swears off love. After her best friend has a nasty breakup too, Kass decides that they have to do something about all of the broken hearts. That's how she comes up with the idea of the Anti-Love club. At first, it sounds ridiculous, but once it's formed, they discover new friends.

Kassidy loves theater and wants to follow in her mom's footsteps. She's over the moon when she lands the part of Juliet, but her excitement is short-lived. Theater is usually her escape, but now J.R. and Sloane (the girl he chose over Kass) have joined the production of Romeo and Juliet. With their constant presence, Kass feels like she can't escape the heart-wrenching feelings of That Night. However, things aren't always as they seem.

ME, SHAKESPEARE, AND THE ANTI-LOVE CLUB is full of innocent love, misunderstandings, heartbreak, and friendship. Kassidy wants nothing more that to get over how broken J.R. made her feel. However, seeing him every day at school makes it so hard. She's reminded of their good memories. Kassidy is a very stubborn character who doesn't hold back what she's thinking. Too me, it's like a breath of fresh air having a character who reminds me of myself in that way. I couldn't help but cheer her on no matter which path she took. I also love the Romeo and Juliet tied into it!

Final Verdict: I would recommend this to fans of contemporary romance, drama, strong-willed characters, getting over heartbreak, first loves, and friendship.
