In the tradition of The Mediator by Jenny Carroll (AKA Meg Cabot), Meg Cabot composes the story of Suze Simon eloquently. It is not that Cabot weaves the story like Pride and Prejudice, in a classic, but as people are in a lively, fun fashion. This excepts the ghosts, however. Haunted will appeal to girls and boys alike, ages 12 and up.

Suze Simon is a high schooler, pretty girl, and a mediator. Mediators can see and communicate with ghosts. They are special people. Mediators can help the undead move on to the afterlife. Suze only knows 2 other mediators. They are Father Dominic, the head of her school, Mission Academy, and Paul Slater, the guy who tried to kill Suze and Jesse.

Jesse is the ghost who haunts her bedroom, where he died in the 1800s. Suze is in love with him. She is quite convinced that Jesse is in love with her also.

Suddenly, Paul Slater shows up at her school. He has moved there and Suze believes that he is out to get her and Jesse. But, Paul’s attentions prove otherwise.

Read the adventures, trials, and triumphs of Suze Simon in Haunted. Learn of ghosts she meets, heals, and loves. What will happen next with Paul? Will someone find out Suze’s secret?

I enjoyed reading Haunted because it is not at all like Meg Cabot’s other works (under that name). It was gripping and scary. I have never read a book with the kind of topic as speaking to ghosts. It has sparked my imagination.
